Mark A. Thompson, MD

Dr. Thompson earned his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering at Texas Tech University. Following this achievement, he earned a medical degree at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. Dr. Thompson then came to Kansas City to the University of Kansas Medical Center, where he completed his residency in radiation oncology. One of the highlights of his residency included six months at the Seattle Prostate Institute with Dr. John Blasko. His focus includes Proton Beam Therapy, Stereotactic Radiosurgery, High Dose Rate Brachytherapy, Interstitial Brachytherapy, and Transperineal Prostatic Brachytherapy. Dr. Thompson is board-certified in radiation oncology. He is a member of ASTRO (the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology) and has been named a Top Doctor – Kansas City as published in Kansas City Magazine the last five years.
